The people that most companies would consider to be the "ordinary consumer" do not buy computers to make spreadsheets or write software. Increasingly, computers are being used as extensions of people's personal lives.

Creation and Sharing of Content

Computers allow people to broadcast their work and look at the work of others. People want to explore a world of media: video, music, photos, and writing. They want new tools for creating and sharing content. They want to discover new content that is to their liking, and enrich the lives of others with content that they have discovered.

Communication

The internet has given birth to new forms of communication: instant messaging, chat, email, VoIP, etc. Nowadays, people view the computer as a tool to communicate with people around the block, and around the world.

Self Expression

The freedom that comes with the internet allows for the process of self-discovery and self-expression. The rise of blogs, personal websites, Flickr, and YouTube show us that people define themselves through choices, and express these choices using the web. People want to express their ideas in a place where there are people who will listen.

Our Aim

Mugshot will allow people to express themselves to the world. It will facilitate sharing and discovery of media and ideas. It will harness the power of the Internet and Free Software to create live social experiences around entertainment.
